I'm a graphic designer and artist living and working in Boston. I have a passion for creative problem-solving, and love to help brands and nonprofits tell their stories more holistically and find new ways to interact with, engage, and grow their audiences.
Most recently, I worked as the Senior Creative Manager for The Greater Boston Food Bank, within the Marketing Team to produce on-brand and compelling ways to tell the story of GBFB's mission, raise funds, and bring light to the issue of food insecurity across Eastern Massachusetts.
Previously, I was the Graphic Designer & Marketing Manager for Boston Center for the Arts, and in 5+ years there, my focus was increasing brand awareness and its impact. Much of my work for the BCA intended to unify the campus and the many types of artists who call it home, spotlighting how artists—visual, dance, theatrical, and so many others—intersect and explore their craft.
Before the BCA, I was the Head Book Designer at Musa Publishing, a small publisher that focused on digital releases. I worked on creating branded and beautiful book interiors that worked in print and digital formats—including building the digital files and ensuring that their structure and coding would work cross-platform. While there, I also created a fully remote training program to equip new designers and interns with the ability to build book files that met both brand standards and industry technical requirements.
I love any project that involves solving a new problem, learning something new, or getting my hands dirty. Personal projects are almost always explorations in typography or explorations in printmaking.
I specialize in publication design, branding, and typography and am always up for a new project, so drop me a line at hello@cerasmith.com!
