I'm a graphic designer, typographer, and artist living and working in Boston.
My most recent role was graphic designer for Boston Center for the Arts starting in 2014, and in 5+ years there, my focus was increasing brand awareness and its impact. Much of my work for BCA had the intent of unifying the campus and the many types of artists who call it home, putting a spotlight on the ways that artists—visual, dance, theatrical, and so many others—intersect and explore their craft.
Before landing at the BCA, I was the head book designer at Musa Publishing (a now defunct small publisher that focused on digital releases). I focused on creating branded and beautiful book interiors that worked in print and in digital formats—including building the digital files and ensuring that their structure and coding would work cross-platform.
I love any project that involves solving a new problem, learning something new, or getting my hands dirty. Personal projects are almost always explorations in typography.
I specialize in publication design, branding, and typography and am always up for a new project or even to hear some wild project ideas, so drop me a line at hello@cerasmith.com!
